October 2021 was a productive month where I completed 3 pieces (albeit not very big ones). It was the height of the pandemic, we were all locked down, great time to foster indoor hobbies. Part 2 of 3:
Starry Sky
Completion Date: 9 October 2021
Specifications: Digital pattern on 18 count aida
Mini cross stitches of classical art was becoming all the rage and it absolutely tickled me. Surprising number of colours used for such a small piece but to good effect.
Halloween Pumpkin
Completion Date: 27 October 2021
Specifications: Digital pattern, 16 count aida, glow-in-the-dark thread
I worked feverishly to get this done before Halloween. A big issue was that I had a lot of trouble sourcing orange coloured aida, believe it or not. Anyway, this was a fun project, got to work with glow-in-the-dark thread for the first time. Turned out pretty good though not as dramatic as the photo suggests. Hung it on our front door though only a few of our apartment neighbours got to see it.
City Terrace
Completion Date: 30 October 2021
Specifications: Digital pattern on 18 count aida
Second foray into mini classical art piece. I had bought a cool photo frame to house 4 mini pieces but to date (in 2024!) still haven’t completed the remaining two. Maybe one day I’ll get my mini gallery up.
